To all of our generous donors:

We are forever grateful for the support we received back in the summer of 2007 in our time of desperate need. The Kathleen Garrigan Volunteer Fund collected more than enough money to accomplish the initial goal of recovering the bodies of Kathy and fellow AmeriCorps volunteer Travis Alexander from Harding Lake in Alaska.

Leftover funds were dispersed to many good causes, all with Kathy's wonderful life in mind:

·        Access To Recreation - renovation for universally accessible playground at Longfellow Park

·        Ascension Youth Ministry - sponsorship of vans to carry volunteer teens to Appalachia for habitat work

·        Catherine Devereux Brandstrader Scholarship - award for college bound girls from large families

·        Opportunity Knocks - local organization providing services to the developmentally disabled

·        Gene & Sandra Ralston - side scan sonar experts in underwater recovery

·        J. Kyle Braid Ranch- leadership camp focusing on drug abuse awareness among peers

·        Joshua Davis Scholarship - award for environmental conscious high school seniors

·        Kathleen Marian Garrigan Leadership Award - annual award for young volunteers

·        Misericordia – residential home for developmentally disabled

·        St. Joseph's College - girls volleyball locker room improvements

·        West Suburban P.A.D.S. - local organization helping the homeless

·        Windmills - local girls softball organization
