The KG CLASSIC is a one day 20 team co-ed softball tournament. It was started in 2007 by Mike Carmody after Kathy Garrigan, 24, died in a boating accident on
Harding Lake, near
Fairbanks Alaska.The KG CLASSIC is a day to remember and honor Kathy while raising money and awareness for the causes she held closest to her heart.
This year the KG Classic will donate all proceeds to Opportunity Knocks. Opportunity Knocks is an innovative new 501c.3 non-profit charity dedicated to providing opportunities and resources for individuals with developmental disabilities to pursue their educational, occupational and social interests.
